Surface Preparation
Rigorous preparation is the foundation of any high-performance coating system. Without it, even the best coatings won't hold.
Our Abrasive Blasting Process
Our dedicated 32 ft x 175 ft shop is designed to accommodate large structural components. The process is based on manual blasting with recycled steel grit, also commonly known as sandblasting. Our sandblasting services in Quebec are available to clients in Montreal and throughout the province.
Up to four blasters work simultaneously, allowing for fast execution without
compromising the quality of the preparation.
The result: a surface ready to receive a durable coating, with optimal adhesion from the first application.
Thermal Spray Metallizing
Thermal spray metallizing is one of the highest-performing corrosion protection systems for steel structures. Its service life is measured in decades, typically 20 to over 50 years depending on the exposure environment.
A Dual Protection Mechanism
The effectiveness of metallizing relies on two complementary principles:
- The metal coating forms a physical barrier that isolates the steel from moisture and its environment
- The zinc acts as a sacrificial anode, corroding preferentially to protect the underlying steel
This galvanic protection continues to work even in the event of an impact or localized damage. This is what makes it a preferred choice for bridges, viaducts, and structures exposed to severe conditions.
Our Application System
Our semi-automated six-gun electric arc system ensures fast, uniform, and precise application in a 28 ft x 185 ft shop.
A cold-applied process, metallizing requires no extended drying time, allowing for quick handling of parts.
Depending on your project's requirements, it can be used alone or covered with a paint system.
